A man in south south Africa has been prescribed Viagra tablets to boost his sexual performance, with the help of his doctor.
Doctors in Johannesburg say the men are suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED) and have started taking the medication to improve their sexual function. The men were told to take the Viagra daily. The tablets were to help boost their sexual performance.
In the video posted to Twitter on Tuesday evening, Dr. Samuel Gerson, a South African urologist, said that he had seen some men have difficulties with the tablets, which they were told were “very safe for you.”
His colleague, Dr. Andrew Smith, also from Durban, said that his doctor had told him that Viagra was a good choice for men suffering from ED.
“I had seen a couple of men who had been having erectile problems for a very long time,” Smith told a news agency.
“I had heard that the tablets were safe to take. I was shocked and I have had to go to the emergency room.”
He said that he had been advised by a sexual partner to take the tablets for as long as possible to boost their sexual performance.
Viagra tablets are not recommended for use in men who have difficulty getting or maintaining an erection. Men should only take it as directed by a doctor.
A Viagra tablet is not intended to be taken in the presence of any medical condition, including a heart attack or stroke. A doctor should be consulted if there is any doubt about the appropriateness of taking Viagra.
